Welcome to Root of Thought! My name is Fiza Syed, and I'm currently a high school sophomore. I started Root of Thought as a space to share my opinions and explore the relationship and intersect between cognitive science and anthropology. These two fields together, offer insight into the mind and its connection to culture, evolution, and environment. I'm especially interested in questions about how our surroundings influence our thoughts, how cognition has developed over time, and how traditions and societal structures shape perception and behavior.
